U.S. History=   Three important things!       #1- Every class will be retaking the Chapter 17 & 18 Quiz (1st, 3rd, & 5th periods on Monday & 2nd period Tuesday) since people scored so poorly, I will then average the scores from the two and enter those grades. You should re-read chapters 17 & 18 (as I can tell that most of you did NOT read the chapters the first time around) in preparation as well as look through your notes on the 70s (Searching for Stability & Changing Society).        #2-  Don't forget that your TED Talk write-up #4 (the last one) is due by 6pm on Thursday, 6/4 .  For more details c lick on the "TED Talks Project" link to the right (above the "It's Kirby. It's epic.") for an on-line copy of the assignment's instructions.          #3- Your final study guides will be given out in class and are due on Thursday, 6/11 for odd periods and Friday, 6/12 for even periods. Your textbooks and stamped work are due the same

Saturday, May 16th is Armed Services Day and in honor of that the Newport Harbor Exchange Club will be hosting their 6th Annual "Field of Honor" display. The Exchange Club of Newport Harbor will line the scenic trail at Castaways Park with 1,776 American flags this coming weekend in honor of military veterans. They are calling it the “Field of Honor,” and it is one of 16 similar efforts that will be sponsored by Exchange Clubs nationwide this year. As members of the Exchange Club have said, “It’s not pro-war, or anti-war, it’s strictly to honor our service men and women.”  I am offering extra credit for you to go out and see this awesome display at the park located at Dover Drive and Castaways Lane. To get the extra credit please have someone take a picture of you near the statue (as seen in the photo below) on the bluffs with all the flags around. You may have the photo taken showing any direction that includes flags . This must be done Friday, May 15th through Sunday, Ma
