Welcome back...I hope you all enjoyed the break. Here is what we have happening this week: US= The World War II Unit Homework Packet is due on Thursday (1st, 3rd, & 5 th periods) and Friday (6 th period). You will be given a study guide for the test that will take place the same day your homework packet is due, either Thursday 2/28 or Friday 2/29. PacRim /IR= We will have a Quest (longer than a quiz, shorter than a test) on Wednesday covering Geography, Culture, & Religion. Be sure to review your notes and handouts on these topics. Friday is your test on the Asia map...if you turned in your map it was passed back in class on Monday.

Enjoy the Presidents Week Recess!

No school this week, but be sure to stay on top of your homework! US= Homework packets are due 2/28 & 2/29....Test on Chapters 10 & 11 that day also! PacRim/IR = Be sure to research for your ABCs of Culture! You should have info & pictures to help your group put your poster together on the Monday after break (2/25).

Happy Valentine's Day....here is a new EXTRA CREDIT ALERT!!! This Saturday, February 16th at 9pm go to this website: http://www.georgetownradio.com/ and click on the "Listen Live" button in the upper right hand corner. From 9-10pm there will be 10 fun/odd/quirky facts given about Presidents in honor of the upcoming President's Week; to get the extra credit you must e-mail me a minimum of 5 facts (more facts will earn you more points) given on the radio show. Send your e-mail to kkirby@nmusd.us before noon on Sunday (2/17/08) to receive the extra credit. Feel free to call in (202-687-9482...it's long distance so be sure to use your free weekend minutes on your cell phone) to the radio show...they might even put you on the air! Have fun listening! ***EXTRA CREDIT ALERT*** This Saturday, February 9th you have an opportunity to earn some extra credit. High School Students may see former child soldier, human rights activist and best selling author of "A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier", Ishmael Beah speak at the Newport Beach Public Library.
