End of the School Year Update

IR= Your final projects are due on Wednesday, June 13th. Your group will be presenting to your fellow Magellan students & teachers on that day. Come dressed professionally and prepared to speak about your group's project. (Stamped work will be counted as extra credit on Friday, June 15th!)

WH= Your final alternative assignment is as follows: Comprehension & Critical Thinking questions 3-5 on pages 510, 520, & 527 AND questions 3-6 on pages 533 & 542. This assignment is due on Thursday, June 14th for 2nd period & Friday, June 15th for 5th period. Also on those days your stamped work will be counted as extra credit. Your Current Event Project (3 articles form April & 3 articles from May) is also due on that day! (Remember that you will be turning in your textbook on 6/14 & 6/15 also!)

US= Our video documentary screening begins at 6pm on Monday, June 11th. Your final alternative assignment is as follows: Critical Thinking questions 1-5 on pages 609 & 631. This assignment is due on Thursday, June 14th for 4th period and Friday, June 15th for 3rd period. Textbooks are also to be returned on the same day and your stamped work will be counted as extra credit also.

Hello 2009!  I hope that you all enjoyed the break! Well here we are just a few weeks away from the end of the semester...be sure to stay on top of your work before finals!   US= Your extra credit assignment is due Wednesday, 1/7 (for odd periods) & Thursday, 1/8 (for even periods)...the assignment is posted on School Loop. Be sure to bring your "Graphing Indicators of the Great Depression" worksheet back to class, as we continue to learn about the 1930s and the Great Depression we will be using that sheet to answer some questions. We will not have a test on Chapters 8 & 9 before the final, but there will be a quiz on each of the  chapters. You should be ready for a quiz on Chapter 8 as early as the end of this week! Your homework is to do Cornell Notes for both chapters 8 & 9 and to complete workbook pages 68, 70, 72, 74, 76, 78, & 80...this is due Thursday, 1/22 (for odd periods) and Friday, 1/23 (for even periods). Isn't that quote so fitting for our weather right now? Well one more week before our Spring Break and here is what we have going on: US= We are working on Chapter 14 dealing with the Civil Rights Movement. Don't forget that you have workbook pages 117, 119, & 121 due this week (Thursday for 6th period & Friday for 1st, 3rd, & 5th periods). Also on that day you will take a Quest (longer than a quiz, but shorter than a test) on chapter 14 & the Civil Rights Movement. In terms of your project...I have made a concession, you may turn it in on the original due date given & receive 10 extra credit points (these points will go toward you project & are therefore worth more than "normal" extra credit points due to how the grades are weighted) or you may turn it in on Monday, April 14th before the end of lunch to receive full credit. This week's schedule: Monday– A day Tuesday– B day Wednesday– Late Start A day Thursday– B day Friday– A day  (extended lunch) U.S. History=   The " profile " for your Historical Civil Rights Figure is due to be uploaded on you class's www.edmodo.com page by 11pm on 3/22 (no matter what period you are in). This Civil Rights Historybook project will move quickly and be done by 3/31 & 4/1, so be sure to look at what you need to be accomplishing in the other parts of the project.  Please bring your composition book to class (if you didn't turn it in with your World War II work). You'll need it in class on Monday & Tuesday. You will have two reading excerpts (with 3 questions each) handed out in class on Monday & Tuesday to also complete in your composition book.
