Welcome to a new school year! Please be sure to use this site to stay up to date on what is happening in class each week.

US= Be working on your US Map Worksheet...there is a Map Quiz on Friday, 9/17 (for odd periods) and Monday, 9/20 (for even periods).You now have a Chapter 1 Homework Packet to be working on. It is due Wednesday, 9/29 (for odd periods) and Thursday, 9/30 (for even periods). Hopefully by the end of the week I will have a scanned version of the HW packet posted on School Loop.

Sociology= Please be sure to have your (2-3 subject) spiral notebook for class this week. We will be checking out books on Tuesday, 9/14 and moving forward from there. Your first homework assignment from the book is to read pages 6-13 and answer questions #1-4 on page 13 and read pages 172-175 and answer question #1 on page 175. Please answer these questions on a separate sheet of loose leaf binder paper (don't tear it out of your spiral notebook (we need those pages in there)!

This week's Schedule: Monday– Late Start B  day Tuesday – A day Wednesday– B day Thursday– A day Friday–  B day U.S. History=   You will be receiving instruction in class this week about researching for your paper & finding 5 appropriate articles to use in writing your paper. You will have 1 week to collect your 5 articles, after the time that is given  in class to get started. Your 5 articles are due 11/13 & 11/14. Beyond that you will have one additional week to complete the annotated bibliography. The procedures for doing both will be explained in class. Here is a link to an info sheet about the online databases available via the Newport Beach Public Library. We will be moving forward with topics related to the next Chapter including the Progressives, Child Labor, Expanding Rights for Women & Minority Groups, & Reformers in the White House. This Week's Schedule: Monday– Late Start A  day Tuesday –   B day  Wednesday– A day Thursday– B day (Back to School Night) Friday– Minimum A day U.S. History=   The Chapter 1 Test is on Monday, 9/23 (odd periods) & Tuesday, 9/24 (even periods)...your comp book with completed timeline & study guide are due on your test day.  Look at last week's post for more review items. Comp books will be returned as soon as possible, but it will probably be the end of this week or even early next week. By early next week you will receive your next Study Guide and Civil War Map they should be completed in your comp book & are due on your test day...(10/11 & 10/14).  You can start reading pages 46-89 at home because you are accountable for what is in the textbook in addition to what we cover in class (they parallel each other). This week's Schedule: Monday–  Late Start  A day Tuesday – B day Wednesday–   A day Thursday– Rally Schedule B day Friday– A day U.S. History=   2nd & 3rd periods: Please bring your composition book to class with you on Monday, 1/8 & Tuesday, 1/9.  Due on Wednesday, 1/10 & Thursday, 1/11 is the Chapter 7 & 8 Study Guide (that was given out the week of 12/11/17, here is a  link  to a digital copy; there are two pages). That too should be completed in your comp book & be prepared for a small test that day on those 2 chapters. Your New Deal Program PSA Group Project (turned in on a flash drive with your separate written reflection) is due 1/17 (for A Day classes) & 1/18 (for B Day classes) You will be given some time to work with your groups in class to "check in" & make sure everything is on track this week.
