U.S. History=
  • Please be reading Chapters 17 & 18 in your textbook at home as we continue to look at political & Social issues of the 1970s in class.
  • There will be a 1970s Quiz in class on Tuesday, 5/21 & Wednesday, 5/22. 
    • Last week you a new study guide was passed out.
      • Here is a link to that study guide. Numbers 1-19 pertain to the 1970s & can help you prepare for the quiz.
      • The actual due date for this study guide is TBD (to be determined).
  • Additionally, please be working on your 4th Quarter Project research for "The Most Influential American” project that was introduced last week. 
    • Here is a link to the actual assignment & these are the forms that must be completed and turned in on 5/28 (for A day classes) and 5/29 (for B day classes).

AP Euro=
  • Please have a rough draft of your research question ready to turn in on Monday.
    • I will be giving each of you feedback on the question you have created & can help you if you are stuck.
    • Don't forget that you can use the "Question Starter" handout to help you craft a question based off of a topic you picked.
  • The first half of class on Wednesday will be set aside to use the online databases search for appropriate articles.
    • You will also be instructed on how to electronically save the articles from the on-line databases with the proper MLA8 citations.
    • By Friday's class you should have 5 appropriate articles that would help you develop an outline to answer your research question.
      • This process will be explained step by step. The only thing to worry about right now is finding 5 articles.

FYI...Saturday, May 18th was Armed Forces Day & Monday, May 27th is Memorial Day.

Hello 2009!  I hope that you all enjoyed the break! Well here we are just a few weeks away from the end of the semester...be sure to stay on top of your work before finals!   US= Your extra credit assignment is due Wednesday, 1/7 (for odd periods) & Thursday, 1/8 (for even periods)...the assignment is posted on School Loop. Be sure to bring your "Graphing Indicators of the Great Depression" worksheet back to class, as we continue to learn about the 1930s and the Great Depression we will be using that sheet to answer some questions. We will not have a test on Chapters 8 & 9 before the final, but there will be a quiz on each of the  chapters. You should be ready for a quiz on Chapter 8 as early as the end of this week! Your homework is to do Cornell Notes for both chapters 8 & 9 and to complete workbook pages 68, 70, 72, 74, 76, 78, & 80...this is due Thursday, 1/22 (for odd periods) and Friday, 1/23 (for even periods). Isn't that quote so fitting for our weather right now? Well one more week before our Spring Break and here is what we have going on: US= We are working on Chapter 14 dealing with the Civil Rights Movement. Don't forget that you have workbook pages 117, 119, & 121 due this week (Thursday for 6th period & Friday for 1st, 3rd, & 5th periods). Also on that day you will take a Quest (longer than a quiz, but shorter than a test) on chapter 14 & the Civil Rights Movement. In terms of your project...I have made a concession, you may turn it in on the original due date given & receive 10 extra credit points (these points will go toward you project & are therefore worth more than "normal" extra credit points due to how the grades are weighted) or you may turn it in on Monday, April 14th before the end of lunch to receive full credit. This Civil Rights Historybook project will move quickly and be done by 3/31 & 4/1, so be sure to look at what you need to be accomplishing in the other parts of the project.  Please bring your composition book to class (if you didn't turn it in with your World War II work).
