***Considering all the things that have happened at school the past couple of weeks I hope that you will take some time to think about what I talked about it class (and even shared about it with your family and friends). Each of you have the power to impact, not only yourself, but a lot of other people with the choices you make. We don't have school today in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.; please take a moment to re-read the quote that is used as the title of this post. There is another quote of his that I thought was fitting after what I shared in class, "In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends." I'm not trying to tell you what to do or how to do it, but I am telling you to think about what you do and why you do it.

This is it...the last week of classes before finals. Remember that you still have the opportunity to do that one last extra credit assignment that I posted for you last week (scroll down to see what you need to do, if you have not already done it). I will post the schedule for finals at the end of this week (please check the school website if you need to see it sooner).

US= One last quiz before the final...there will be a quiz on Chapter 9, sections 3 &4 on Tuesday and Wednesday. I will be passing back a bunch of papers to you as well as giving you a study guide for the final. Thursday and Friday will be spent reviewing for the final...on that same day I will also be checking your stamped work & recording your extra credit for the stamps at that time.

PacRim/IR= We will be spending our last couple of days continuing to talk about War & Conflict. On Wednesday you will be given your final grade check (it is due on FRIDAY...this is so that you know what grade you have going in to all of your finals) and a study guide for our final. On Friday you will turn in your grade check and I will also be checking your stamped work & recording your extra credit for the stamps at that time.

Hello 2009!  I hope that you all enjoyed the break! Well here we are just a few weeks away from the end of the semester...be sure to stay on top of your work before finals!   US= Your extra credit assignment is due Wednesday, 1/7 (for odd periods) & Thursday, 1/8 (for even periods)...the assignment is posted on School Loop. Isn't that quote so fitting for our weather right now? Well one more week before our Spring Break and here is what we have going on: US= We are working on Chapter 14 dealing with the Civil Rights Movement. Don't forget that you have workbook pages 117, 119, & 121 due this week (Thursday for 6th period & Friday for 1st, 3rd, & 5th periods). Also on that day you will take a Quest (longer than a quiz, but shorter than a test) on chapter 14 & the Civil Rights Movement. In terms of your project...I have made a concession, you may turn it in on the original due date given & receive 10 extra credit points (these points will go toward you project & are therefore worth more than "normal" extra credit points due to how the grades are weighted) or you may turn it in on Monday, April 14th before the end of lunch to receive full credit. This week's schedule: Monday– A day Tuesday– B day Wednesday– Late Start A day Thursday– B day Friday– A day  (extended lunch) U.S. History=   The " profile " for your Historical Civil Rights Figure is due to be uploaded on you class's www.edmodo.com page by 11pm on 3/22 (no matter what period you are in). This Civil Rights Historybook project will move quickly and be done by 3/31 & 4/1, so be sure to look at what you need to be accomplishing in the other parts of the project.  Please bring your composition book to class (if you didn't turn it in with your World War II work). You'll need it in class on Monday & Tuesday. You will have two reading excerpts (with 3 questions each) handed out in class on Monday & Tuesday to also complete in your composition book.
