"The sun was warm but the wind was chill, you know how it is with an April day." -Robert Frost

Isn't that quote so fitting for our weather right now? Well one more week before our Spring Break and here is what we have going on:

US= We are working on Chapter 14 dealing with the Civil Rights Movement. Don't forget that you have workbook pages 117, 119, & 121 due this week (Thursday for 6th period & Friday for 1st, 3rd, & 5th periods). Also on that day you will take a Quest (longer than a quiz, but shorter than a test) on chapter 14 & the Civil Rights Movement. In terms of your project...I have made a concession, you may turn it in on the original due date given & receive 10 extra credit points (these points will go toward you project & are therefore worth more than "normal" extra credit points due to how the grades are weighted) or you may turn it in on Monday, April 14th before the end of lunch to receive full credit. Projects must be turned in to Miss Kirby...no leaving them in the classroom or the mailbox in portable #3. Projects will be marker down 1 full letter grade for each day they are late (not each class period...therefore if it is due on Monday & you turn it in on Wednesday you will be marked down 2 full letter grades).

PacRim/IR= I have chosen new seats for you in class...hooray, my turn since I let you all pick the first time. You have your Eastern Europe Map test this coming Tuesday. We will be wrapping up the topic started last week (while I was at jury duty), Women in Afghanistan & looking at China's "One Child Policy" the remainder of the week. You will have some homework to do prior to Thursday's class so be attentive in class so that you can get it done correctly!
A HUGE Thank You to all whole helped at the Rummage Sale on Saturday!
We made about $640 for the Philanthropist Project...a few more dollars to go to hit our goal of $1,000 so we can give out 4 grants to the many deserving non-profit agencies.
