Don't forget that there is a warm clothes drive (jackets, sweaters, gloves, etc.) happening this week in 4th period classes AND a food drive (non-perishable items) happening in 3rd period classes. Please think about ways that you might be able to contribute! :)

US= We will be working through Chapter 5 this week. There will be a Quest (longer than a quiz, but shorter than a test) on chapters 4 & 5 next week (Monday, 11/22 for odd periods & Tuesday, 11/23 for even periods). Be prepared to be focused in class! You also still have a few opportunities to make up points on the 1st Quarter Summative Test on Tuesday & Thursday at 7:15am or Tuesday from 1:30-3:30pm. Take advantage of the opportunities that are presenting themselves!

Sociology= Finally took the midterm...so that means we'll be starting Unit 3! No really, we will be starting Unit 3 this week; we're going to have a lot to talk about since the subject is "Social Inequality". You have homework due Friday, 11/19 (read pages 240-248 in your textbook & answer questions 1-5 on page 248). There will be a quiz on Tuesday, 11/23 covering material form in-class on Wednesday, 11/17 & Friday, 11/19...if you are absent be sure to the get the notes from a friend or by contacting the teacher!

Hello 2009!  I hope that you all enjoyed the break! Well here we are just a few weeks away from the end of the semester...be sure to stay on top of your work before finals!   US= Your extra credit assignment is due Wednesday, 1/7 (for odd periods) & Thursday, 1/8 (for even periods)...the assignment is posted on School Loop. Be sure to bring your "Graphing Indicators of the Great Depression" worksheet back to class, as we continue to learn about the 1930s and the Great Depression we will be using that sheet to answer some questions. Isn't that quote so fitting for our weather right now? Well one more week before our Spring Break and here is what we have going on: US= We are working on Chapter 14 dealing with the Civil Rights Movement. Don't forget that you have workbook pages 117, 119, & 121 due this week (Thursday for 6th period & Friday for 1st, 3rd, & 5th periods). Also on that day you will take a Quest (longer than a quiz, but shorter than a test) on chapter 14 & the Civil Rights Movement. In terms of your project...I have made a concession, you may turn it in on the original due date given & receive 10 extra credit points (these points will go toward you project & are therefore worth more than "normal" extra credit points due to how the grades are weighted) or you may turn it in on Monday, April 14th before the end of lunch to receive full credit. This week's schedule: Monday– A day Tuesday– B day Wednesday– Late Start A day Thursday– B day Friday– A day  (extended lunch) U.S. History=   The " profile " for your Historical Civil Rights Figure is due to be uploaded on you class's www.edmodo.com page by 11pm on 3/22 (no matter what period you are in). This Civil Rights Historybook project will move quickly and be done by 3/31 & 4/1, so be sure to look at what you need to be accomplishing in the other parts of the project.  Please bring your composition book to class (if you didn't turn it in with your World War II work).
